Now What Was It That I Was Trying To Remember?
I came across this quote recently:
“The dullest pen is sharper than the brightest mind” – Unknown
How true!
I came across a calendar meeting on Tuesday that I wasn’t quite sure the details on.
I did a search on my laptop and found the same email address on June 6.
Apparently, on June 6th, I reached out to a Managing Director of a firm in Chicago. I have no email response back from her but later on she declined my meeting request.
So I must have emailed her first, reached out via phone, and she may have told me to reconnect the 1st week of July.
I don’t know because I didn’t put it in my CRM, Salesforce.com that we use internally at Connect 5000.
We can’t remember everything. It’s not possible. What I should have done is put this company, the executive, and my conversation notes into the CRM. I didn’t and this is a good example of why I should.
I have conversations with lots of executives and can’t remember the exact details from 4 weeks ago.
Can you relate? I know I’m stating the obvious but remember 1 thing: Don’t try to remember everything. Write it down or put it in your CRM. That way your memory is fresh from every sales interaction you have.
So I learned my lesson and hope this helps.
I’m Ray Ruecker with Connect 5000.
